What Is It?
Hundreds of thousands of people are languishing through anxiety and uncertainty as they wait to see if they will be approved for disability. In the mean time, mortgages are not being paid cabinets are bare and meds need to be purchased. After years of honest hard work, the safety net they have helped to build has let them fall through. With little communication from the Social Security Administration, stonewalling and lack of transparency there seems to be a system of delay and deny.
Help us answer the cry for that has been resounding from within the walls of dignity and self respect for far too long. We are seeking your support and insight for the Transparency and Accountability for Disability Appications Bill (TADA-Bill) as we prepare to submit it to our state representative.
The Problem
The Security Administration cites a process of 6-8 months to process an application for disability. However there are hundreds of thousands of cases that hang in pending status even after 2 years before an initial decision due to a lack of proactive response in the administrative process.
